Good morning everyone, today I would like to introduce a book called The Cornell School of Hotel Administration on Hospitality, written by Michael Sturman .

Cornell University regarded as one of the best place in the world in to study THS. Information in this book is concise, easy-to understand and highly applicable. So I do believe this book is a good read for everyone who are interested in Tourism and Hospitality.

The first part of the book, dealing with managing human capital, managing career, choosing a place to work is absolutely fantastic and offers a common sense logical framework for career progression.

Later sections developed into hotel operations, describing the essence of hotel operations.

The first chapter presents various aspects of a successful career in the hospitality industry.

To clarify, It highlights the point that hospitality is an international industry.

International work is challenging, the rewards are substantial, both professionally and personally.

One should prepare for international opportunity by learning about company’s international operations.

If you would like to give in in this occupation, you need to develop network, and make sure that family members are on board with one’s international aspirations.

So you may ask what else do I have to possess with？

It is essential that good communication with colleagues in different departmats and take the initiative to meet people, as it can help in finding solutions.

Also focus more on learning skills that are valuable in any international or multicultural context. It is useful to know a foreign language. And don’t forget to learn how to ask questions without being offensive.
