Year End Review – 16/7/2009

Good morning everyone,

Last night we had a great and fantastic Variety Show!  Over 300 participants, teachers, students, parents and alumni were involved in our 30th anniversary Variety Show.  I am proud of our students’ talents.  Round applause and praise were heard else where in the Jockey Club auditorium.  The Guest of Honour Dr. Chen praised that the show was professional run and it was the grand product of the collaborative effort of teachers, students, parents and alumni. Thanks to all our staff and the participants for their great effort for the wonderful performance.  They had put a memorable and perfect ending to our 30th anniversary year. Let’s give a big hand to our good show.

I was one of the actors in the Chinese Drama. After the show, I highly appreciate the saying ‘one minute success on stage needs ten years’ effort behind’.  Perseverance, encouragement and team spirit are the keys to success.  I would like these virtues of HKCWCC to be extolled forever.

Next, I would like to announce a piece of good news here.

Two F.6 students are to be admitted to the university through the Early Admission Scheme. One is 6S Yu Man Fai, admitted by the School of Business of the University of Hong Kong; another is 6S Tse Ming Nga, admitted by the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Hong Kong.

      Congratulations to these two students!

The 2nd term exam and the annual exam results have been displayed in the covered playground. Please have a look. The pass percentage of most of the subjects is higher than 90%, but the credit percentage is not high enough. Students, you should aim at getting more credits in order to enter university.

Two teachers are going to leave us this year. Mrs Hung, our school librarian and Miss Yeung, our Mathematics teacher will take their early retirement. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for their effort in teaching, caring for students and supporting the school throughout their past service years. Their retirement will be a loss to our students. But, in return, you can strive hard for progress and self-improvement, which is the best way you should thank your teachers. I would like to wish them all good health and a happy life in the future.

Thank you.
