Opening Speech in the SA Inauguration Ceremony
Good morning everyone,
First of all, I would like to express my appreciation to the 2006-2007 Committee Members of the Students’ Association. Through their effort and collaboration, the ethos of mutual support among students was enhanced. They led students to respect their teachers and love the school through the traditional Life-wide Learning Day II programmes. I would like the former SA Committee members to share their valuable experiences with the new members.
The inauguration of the new committee will now take place. Our congratulations go to all the new members. Don’t forget the role of the Students’ Association. You act as the bridge between the school and students. You should be their representative and voice their needs. You should be concerned about their welfare. Up to now, our student leaders have been rather reserved and passive. The SA should be the leaders of all student leaders. You have the responsibility to boost their morale, so be active and energetic not only in the recreational activities, but also in the academic ones. We hope you will carry out your duties with fresh enthusiasm, and have the courage and commitment to bring about change.
Lastly, may I wish the new Committee Members of the Students’ Association every success in their work and a fruitful year ahead.
Thank you!
